Daz's Tasty Treats

 

I am a Dad of 3 and husband to my wonderful wife Dee.

 

My running started when I stumbled across parkrun and I loved it. I wanted to improve my times and so I started following a 5k running plan. I then moved this onto 10k, half marathon and then finally a marathon, seeing me running my first one at the end of 2016. I was now totally and utterly addicted to running. In 2017 I took on my first ultra marathon, followed by my first 100k race. Loving a challenge I am stepping up the distance once again and currently in training for the North Downs Way 100 Miles in August.

 

I have met so many fantastic people in my short running journey and I hope to meet many more along the way. It is a wonderful inspiring community to be part of and I’m so glad I have found it.

 

As you now know I love to run but I also love food and the two go quite well together. It’s a real pleasure to be able to share with you some of the recipes and treats that I make to reward myself after my running efforts, I hope you enjoy trying them out.

Cookie Doughlicious Balls

 

1 1/3 cups of almond flour

1/3 cup of melted coconut oil 

3 tbsp maple syrup

3 tbsp full fat coconut milk

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp salt 

1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips

Method

Blend together the almond flour, coconut oil, maple syrup, coconut milk, vanilla extract and salt together.

 

Place in a bowl and mix in 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips, then place in the fridge for 1 hour.

 

Roll into balls and dip into the remaining melted chocolate chips before placing back in the fridge to set.
