Well it’s here folks; the website is live! Of course, you should already know that as you are reading my ramblings!
When I started Running Dads, the aim was simple; using social media to develop an online community to promote the efforts of dads out there who run and are inspired by their children. Not only that, but they use running to instill behaviours that encourage achievement, aspiration and positive attitude to exercise.
That was in February; this is now 11 weeks later and this website and its contents have been born from the overwhelmingly positive feedback from people out there who engage with the social media sites daily. This is not just exclusive to dads; #allrunnershere has indeed been very much at the forefront of my thinking and our followers reflect this.
From likes, tweets, re-tweets, tags and direct messages, the day-to-day contact with the community really has been a source of great encouragement and inspiration. It has helped drive my own motivation and ambition with not only my running, but influence of Ethan and to pursue the next phase of Running Dads.
So, what phase I hear you run through your minds. Well, the website is not only the home of my own blog, but the source of a number of ways in which Running Dads out there can continue their own involvement in the project.
There is a section detailing our Official Supporters, our own Virtual Festival of Running, merchandise and a monthly Guest Blog competition and an opportunity to become a member of the official Running Dads affiliated running club (fingers crossed!), there are some exciting times ahead and I can't wait to see how we go!
So; welcome to the site and thank you for all your support so far! Use the contact section and let me know what you think!
The future is bright; the future is Running Dads.
